ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Melting watermelon is a happy joke about the melting pot concept. Actually we all talk about social engaging and tolerance but sometimes, unconsciously we don't apply our best judgment. A fruit doesn't melt, but it organically changes and can melt every difference at its life cycle. This colourful summery fruit gives the sensation of an apparent harmony and connection among cultures. Expressive black illustrations of some of the most relevant cultural iconic and known objects. I hope to get my message across always with humour and fun tone. This artwork is shipped on a folder or tube and is not framed.

I started my artistic professional activity in 2008, with my debut in an exhibition in Lisbon, at Fábrica Braço de Prata. Since then i developed several activities, cultural events and art workshops consisted of art education for kids; curatorial practices with many Portuguese and Spanish artists; i had organised art shows in Barcelona and Lisbon between the years of 2013 and 1017. I was an author of art history drawing at the museum program in Barcelona, in 2017-2018. I have been creating a graphic archive of all the marine Portuguese species, since 2015. I published my first illustration art book in 2020. I am most interested in nature, still life and drawing that is neither abstract nor figurative. I like the tension of the uncategorised artwork. I also have a wide knowledge in Art History, Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, from the smallest artefact to the master piece, capable of integrating culturally and transmitting information to different publics. These qualities associated with her vast work experience in areas such as education, art and culture, developing art' projects with children in New York, Lisbon and Paris, respond to her wish to constantly assume new challenges. I present my artwork in public since 2008 till today. In march 2022, i will have my first solo show in a Portuguese Museum, at the city of Matosinhos, dedicated to the ocean and the fishing community. 2023 - Lançar a Luz, solo exhibition at museum, Sintra, Portugal upcoming events in 2024 - Solo exhibition about the rural communities at Garret Cine-teatro, in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal Art installation and intervention in the Theatre facade, Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal Artist book to be publish in February of 2024. Co-author of documentary film about the rural memories of Póvoa de Varzim.
