ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This charcoal drawing was drawn from a combination of two reference photos I took at Taronga Zoo. I absolutely love watching primate mothers caring for their young, especially gorillas. I hope that through this piece, viewers are reminded of how similar our two species are and see even more value in how important the conservation of this species is. My favourite part of this drawing, that took over 70 hours, is the mother delicately holding her baby's hand.
