In 2015, I visited Glasgow for the first time. A couple of years later, I made this map for a friend in a Glaswegian band in part as thanks for getting me great seats to see them play at the Hollywood Bowl -- and in part as an illustration for my piece on exploring that city

Eric Brightwell is an adventurer, explorer, cartographer, guerilla gardener, and writer... Eric Brightwell was born in Iowa City, Iowa but primarily raised in Lexington, Kentucky and Columbia, Missouri. Inspired by fantasy maps and text adventure computer games, he began drawing maps when he was about nine years old. He studied film theory at the University of Iowa where he made a point of visiting every block of every street in the city and its suburbs. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, he began exploring and drawing maps again, beginning with a map of Elysian Park.
