About The Artwork
Original Pen and Ink on Watercolor Paper - With the mat and frame the size is 25" x 25". I'm working on the integration of the figure to its environment by setting up a bridge with situations of flexibility and deformation between the figures and the background that is, a new space is created where the line, light, and shadows are the protagonists. To this, I add a few fanciful creatures that come and go from work to work sometimes uninvited. I see those them as imaginary beings and memories from childhood tales that flashes back in my head from time to time.

I seek to project authentic, intimate interpretations of the world I encounter. As a native of Puerto Rico, I am influenced by the characters, emotions, images, and colors associated with the island. Sometimes I turn to my childhood memories to address the existential questions I want to express. I've recently explored the concepts of time, energy, light, and space through my paintings and drawings. This has led me to work with hybrid subjects and media that can converge figuration with traits of abstraction and surrealism. I use symbolism and distortions to bridge the figures and their environment, creating scenes where surrounding energies and time metaphors serve as the glue of an idea.
