About The Artwork

This mixed media drawing is inspired by the bond that you can see between horse and rider. This beautiful thoroughbred horse is walking towards you obediently and with it's scale it practically comes to life. I have been drawing horses all of my life and I am happy to say that this is one of my finest artworks. I have focused on the expression in the horses eyes and the proportion and movement which draws the viewer in.

Equine Artist Charlie Rallings has created her debut collection of paintings celebrating the power and form of the horse. Charlie is inspired by the local Hickstead Showground and the beautiful East Sussex riding. Graduating with a First Class BA Honors Illustration in London Westminster she focused on large scale pieces inspired by the natural world. When she moved to Brighton a few years ago she was inspired by the street art scene and started to learn spray painting in the lanes. She began a mural art company called Brighton Think Big and she was commissioned by Brighton and Hove Council, to transform neglected walls throughout the city with positive artworks. Her mural art can be found in local establishments and on huge walls in London Road and in George Street where she completed a mural showing the local history throughout the ages from cockles markets to the present day. She rediscovered her passion for horse riding when she began volunteering at a horse rescue centre in Bolney Village nestled in the rolling hills of the sussex downs. Her new collection of Equine paintings are large mixed media pieces using ink and acrylics. She will be holding her first solo exhibition in Bolney Village during the Hickstead Showjumping Event on June 23rd 2017, where limited edition pieces will be on sale.
