Please click on Soo Beng's 'Collections' for an overview of all Soo Beng's art available to buy on Saatchi Art. Migrated to Sydney, Australia 35 years ago from Malaysia. I grew up with an immense love for art painting and am self taught. I am a graphic designer by profession, but still find time to pursue my passion for art painting in various mediums of acrylics, batik and more recently, water colour. I enjoy satisfaction in painting rock scenes in acrylic. More recently, I have ventured into the ink wash technique of watercolour painting to enhance the furry effects in soft coated animals. The inking process looks deceptively simple but each stroke can prove to be temperamental and challenging but gives great satisfaction when achieved. Some of my earlier paintings have been stamp illustrations for the opening of a dam in Malaysia, and a rice plantation scene that was presented to the late Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman.
