About The Artwork

The drawing is a real meditation: time stops and the minutes tick by the rhythm of the gestures. I like to work in negative: the background is first created then the lights appear thanks to the eraser. It's as if I managed to reveal a face or a shape that was lying dormant on my paper. The ink allows me to achieve absolute black. It intensifies the lights even more by the play of contrasts. Don't overdo it, that's the secret!

French artist living near Paris Drawing and painting have always been with me as well as the certainty that my thoughts, too numerous, had to be laid on the canvas to encumber me a little less. I recently discovered that my brain does not work like everyone else: I am "aphantasy". My brain is blind. It was the revelation: this is why I have always had to paint and draw, I have to make visible what my blind brain cannot show me. I don't visualize any apple, but I can create it.
