The Shape of Her Words D-12 is one of a series of six pastel and charcoal drawings in handmade paper that were inspired by Maya Angelou's Inauguration poem, "On the Pulse of Morning." The artworks are a response to the story of hope I saw in Angelou’s words. The style is my typical bold line, feathered in color, earth tones, using natural materials. These form an abstract image reflecting strength, persistence, movement, growth, hope. The drawings are suitable for corporate, hospital, school and residence placement
