About The Artwork
Inspired by my love for the ocean, this artwork shows how the sea at night can become a most dangerous place to be. What is on top of the water is sometimes not as frightening as below the waves. I wanted to show both the excitement of discovering something in the blackness of the night such as a shark feeding frenzy. The warm light from inside the cabin seems safer than being on deck within yards of death. I chose ink as my main tool, then digitally enhanced the artwork to add light where needed.
