ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My doughter had high temperature over Christmas. She is often not well. I drew her in our living room imagining plants growing fast around her. She is actually growing every time she has fever, and blossoming like a real plant. I'm hoping to transmit calm and peace and always giving a touch of poetry to my images. I really like my images to talk to the viewer as they were little stories to listen to and to empathize with. I'm lately sketching quite a lot on paper (watercolor paper) as I find it a quick and enjoyable way to record little moments of everydays' life. I later cut off some parts of the drawing and play around with collage. I really like the esthetic result as collage give more movement to the image itself.

I'm an italian artist based in Venice. I'm very interested in the way art is intwined with real life, becoming the trace of our own emotional being. I see art as a mirror reflecting our inner insight, and I use it as a travel journal. My main way of expression is painting. I usually like to use oil paint on canvas. I’ve started to add embroidery on my canvases as well, finding the visual effect quite interesting and enjoy very much the act of embroidery itself: it is a slow process and my thoughts manage to slow down with it. It is quite like a meditation for me. I also very much like collage. I enjoy creating a surface to allow the eyes to move around: our real world is made of things being there quite by chance, but with their own harmony and I seek to represent this by the collage technique.
