I have been "in the closet" where studio art is concerned for a long time. I studied art history instead of studio and then, when I was about to make the leap, got convinced to start a Ph.D. in garment construction instead. I did not finish it. I sewed for many years and did some sketches now and then while I worked as a technical translator in order to maintain a visa in Europe. In 2023 I ordered some acrylic paints and a couple panels as a way of dealing with an unfortunate immigrations decision. Maybe that decision was not so unfortunate, after all, since I am finally doing something I enjoy.
