Oksana Oleksiiva is a modern Ukrainian artist. In the artist's practice, love for Ukrainian nature and folk embroidery are intertwined. She is a connoisseur of ancient Ukrainian folk embroidery. Since 2014, she began to research and study it using ancient embroidered items of Ukrainians. Using which you can explore the Ukrainian ethnos and learn special, unique to Ukraine, hand embroidery techniques. Until 2022, she lived in Odesa and grew her garden. She was inspired by it. After the start of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, she was forced to leave her native country. Currently lives in Munich, Germany. Creates paintings, graphics, collages and works in mixed media. The artist works with the following materials: watercolor, graphite pencils, acrylic, embroidery and herbarium. The basis of her works are the results of research into Ukrainian embroidery, surrounding vegetation, and the culture of the Ukrainian people. Oksana is a member of the Association of Botanical Artists in Britain (ABA).
