After serving a 14 year prison sentence, Gary Mansfield has a love/hate relationship with barbed wire. Looking closer at this barbed wire, one will notice the form is created by 1000's of tallies (the stereotypical marks scratched into the prison wall to indicate each passing day). This time-consuming method is an ode to the daily punishment of making inmates participate in laborious and tasks, in an effort to make them reflect on their wrongdoings.
