ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My doughter loves drawing and when she does I just imagine her being a little fary and doing magic with her pen as it was a magic wand. I always hope the viewer will feel, watching my images, as if he was in a kind of fable, I want the time to stop and entering the images's time, their pace. The image will drive the viewer in its own space and time, telling him a story. I've sketched my doughter quickly on some paper and then I worked on the composition adding fabrics( some of them belonged to my grandmother) and another image in the background to build the imaginary space. I love working with collage it gives a sort of freedom to my composition. I never really mind about little mistakes or the imperfections of sizes since the aim is the final composition and the buiding up of a sort of thread that should keep the viewer attention in the story through the triggering of an emotional way.

I'm an italian artist based in Venice. I'm very interested in the way art is intwined with real life, becoming the trace of our own emotional being. I see art as a mirror reflecting our inner insight, and I use it as a travel journal. My main way of expression is painting. I usually like to use oil paint on canvas. I’ve started to add embroidery on my canvases as well, finding the visual effect quite interesting and enjoy very much the act of embroidery itself: it is a slow process and my thoughts manage to slow down with it. It is quite like a meditation for me. I also very much like collage. I enjoy creating a surface to allow the eyes to move around: our real world is made of things being there quite by chance, but with their own harmony and I seek to represent this by the collage technique.
