Jack Bride works within realms of the numinous, esoteric, mystical, ecstatic and transcendental. He develops a visual language to tell stories and provide experiences that bring the viewer into states of disorientation, bewilderment and contemplation. Mortality, optical "noise," and tapping mysterious powers within are main themes in Jack's work. Blending genres of performance with visual art, Jack has created other-worldly installations in two Calgary-based pre-demolision projects, "Wreck City" and "Phantom Wing." True to the inseparable duality of creation and destruction, he was spontaneously inspired during the Calgary Flood of June, 2013 and obsessively painted surrealist landscapes of the flood, as the raging river swept away storage containing a wealth of his archives and sketchbooks. Jack works out of Toronto, Canada.
