I create this image along with another one with the same drawing but with few variations, "A Florentine couple I"
Based on a famous painting from the Italian Renaissance,
this couple represents a turbulent, complicate love, only sustained by decadence and lust.
"Doppio ritratto dei duchi di Urbino" (Federico da Montefeltro e Battista Sforza) painted by Piero della Francesca.
Here is a little trick to make people talk and discuss about this matter, they are a couple from Urbino (Marche) but their portrait is in Uffizi (Florence) this is why the drawing is called "A Florentine couple"
The two lovers in this image are flipped, the color surrounding the drawing in this case black shows the dramatic turbulent love they where in.
I use mirror and double images because I think in life nothing is certain, it is always another side of the story, another point of view, life has many shades many possibilities, every one of us is unique and nobody else is capable to perceive and feel like we do, even if I think we are all connected.
