Robin has been drawing since early childhood when she was first introduced to and entered the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo art competition in grade school. She continued to compete each year at HLSR until she graduated as a National Art Honors Society senior. She has entered and placed in numerous local and state shows and competitions through the years and has worked in multiple mediums, but always comes back to the basics she first learned with pencil. Robin specializes in portraiture, but does enjoy dipping into other subjects such as fantasy, still life and landscapes at times. She chooses her subjects by emotion which she strives to capture in each piece. Her drawings can take weeks up to months to create as she builds layer upon layer. Each piece contains many hours of patience, determination, and love. Robin’s goal with each creation is to draw out an emotional response from those who view her work.
