Alessandra was born on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia of British and Italian parents. She moved to South Africa as a teenager, and immediately fell in love with its open spaces, diversity and vibrancy Alessandra has been involved in the world of art since a young age. After graduating in Theatre Arts and Crafts in Pretoria South Africa, she worked in many different fields including designing sets,puppets and props for theatre and television for over 18 years. She worked on many productions in all major theatre in South Africa. Alessandra has a fondness for children programs, and was involved in many TV shows, and recently as art director for the Pesoolies on SchoolTV. At the end of 2000 she ventured into Namibia for 3 months spending a lot of time in the desert with her trusted old car, a pot, her trampoline and some painting materials and has been creating oil painting and sculptures ever since. Her main passion is portrait and figurative work inspired by the people she encounters along life's journey. In 2005 her work was chosen by the Cape Town City Council for the public sculpture of Joe Gquabi, and in 2006 she came 3rd in the Carol Boys Design Competition. After moving to Cyprus in 2011 she had her first of many exhibitions in the village of Letymbou hanging in the coffe-shop her paintings were inspired by the village locals and regulars characters. Alessandra's work is sought after and she exhibits at various galleries, and took part in numerous exhibitions in South Africa, Hong Kong, Ireland and Cyprus. Alessandra currently lives and works in Cyprus.
