ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"The wind will be tomorrow" 2021 Size: 85 x 60 cm. A1. Mixed media drawing on 250 g/m watercolor paper. Fixed with a professional fixative. Signature front and back. The wind will blow tomorrow. It would certainly be..that wind of change. More than one. Whether it arrives in the sails with a breeze, whether it will be a rainstorming, though still feeding the earth, monsoon; or will it be pushing in by a hurricane, making everything tremble from exertion and sobs… But today her child, her growing-up son is with her, in piece and quiet, in the magic circle of the mother's embrace. Transient moments of endless love.

I am a Ukrainian figurative artist. My work focuses on people. I explore certain moments in life, what they are made of. Gestures, movements, looks, and something else: elusive but tangible and precise, a silence of concentration, an inner contemplation. I am moved by scenes of deep relationships and subtle intimacy. Themes of female nature, family, maturing, childhood. Sometimes I reveal something personal, like my son. Sometimes I am just guided by what I see. My main means of expression are figurative drawing, oil painting and collage. I do a lot of sketches from life, which is the basis of all my work. It brings me back to a permanent state, in my own unique space and time. Expression, spontaneity, something pulsating, not obvious and accomplished - that's what I'm after. This is the only way for creativity to have its own voice and nerve. Because art is not about form, meaning or aesthetics. It is a way of thinking, a path.
