About The Artwork

"Thelma and Louis had been together a long time, but still had trouble explaining their somewhat unorthodox relationship at dinner parties; they met on e-harmony, united by a shared love of long bike rides, antiquing and traditional holiday celebrations." This lovely portrait features an anthropomorphic lion in a charcoal colored blazer, a pair of deep blue tweed trousers, a blue plaid shirt and tan loafers - no socks of course. He stands, propping up his bicycle casually while a chicken stands on the back of the bike in the spot where a basket may typically rest. The painting is completed in series of blue, tan and charcoal tones with a small pop of yellow and red in the animal's faces. It was painted on lovely acid free cotton paper and will ship rolled in a tube.

Agnes Meintjes, also known as Lara, is a South African artist, illustrator and student happily living in Long Beach, California.
