This is part of a series called 'Unicorns & Pompadours' . It came about shortly after I had completed the unicorn drawings while also being inspired by the film 'Amadeus' which I watched intermittently while I worked over and over again. I came home from work as a scenic painter in tears and frustration after a co worker went off on me with uncontrolled and unwarranted anger. I reciprocated by going home and taking it out on the red paper. I quickly drew out the figure with hidden knife and dark shadows and as the anger wore off layered the hair with paint like creamy rosettes atop a cake, feeling self satisfied at the idea growing in my mind for its completion. By the end of it I had decided to write across her pompadour like a written thought 'Simply stated, I wish he would drop dead'. I am very satisfied with the results. The paint splatts symbolic of a bloody happening. Her eyes rimmed with red where I let the paper reveal. Revenge, high minded artist style. A complete transformation of energy into a fashionable fiasco of style. These drawings are all created on the spot with no pre sketches. I signed it backwards as it is a negative and psychotic representation.
