ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Marker and pencil on Arches smooth watercolour paper. 320gsm. This piece is the first of a very short series showing a contrast between traditional and modern. A monk is walking down a street in Tokyo, begging for donations for his temple. This is called Takuhatsu. He is walking by a Prada shopfront which has handbags on display, and a picture of a model wearing a yellow dress, contrasting with the yellow robes worn by the monk. My signature is in black marker in the bottom right corner, as seen in the full photo of the piece.
