VIEW IN MY ROOM
I have been fascinated by storefronts ever since I set my tiny baby eyes on one. The text fonts and graphic signs, the products, the colors, the characters, logos, language, culture and so on. I want to call store fronts a portraiture of someones product. I may not always want the product, but the storefront sets a precedence for me to be interested in it. It's kind of like falling in love at first glance, but keeping the mystery present by crafting it into an art work. I believe this piece was created after I visited a so called traditional village, located in South Korea, Jeonju. Back when I went to the traditional village, it was considered to be a hot tourist destination, but when I had arrived it was nothing much more than a well decorated cultural emulation. The architecture and design was great, and the presentation was spectacular, but it was far from what I would call traditional in a historical sense. Even so with the criticism, there were some highlights here and there. I chose this storefront just because there was a sense of originality to it. It felt like a place that was well kept, but it didn't undergo any contemporary, pro tourism surgery. I could be totally wrong, and I could have been bamboozled by the epic levels of historical emulation, but the sense of design and aesthetic values as a storefront had me interested.

Hong Kong
Born in South Korea, Seoul Lives and works in Hong Kong I am currently working part time as an artist, and full time as an art assistant at a school. I use this blog as a space to tell stories, share ideas and show artwork. My focus was in animation, but I have found myself leaning closer towards painting and drawing. I like playing basketball, going on long walks, and also going on the occasional hike. One day I wish to work full time as an artist, and travel the world.
