After studying art history and conservation and restoration of art, I worked as a conservator/restorer of paintings before discovering art education which is currently my main profession. In parallel to my teaching activity, I paint and draw. After painting portraits, I decided to pratice only drawing, and nude subject. This is probably due to my admiration for two artists in particular, Egon Schiele and Lucian Freud. I'm interested in the human body, specifically in the female body, for its curves and sensuality. I work from my own body, whose shapes are modified according to my mood or my personal life and family . In my work, I am inspired by Egon Schiele, an artist whom devoted a great importance to self-portraits and to the expression of his moods by the representation of his own deformed body, or unconventional poses .I willingly chose to depict the body with important play of lights and shadows to intensify contrasts. I have a predilection for charcoal, both for his sensuality and for strong shadows I can get. The body is highlighted by colorful backgrounds with pastels, in successive layers. I am looking to get maximum volume in my drawings and I’m interested in the relationship between the two-dimensional surface of the paper and the real space. Therefore, I like to add three-dimensional details (human sculptures in aluminum foil that invade the space of the drawing and come to touch it, wood sticks painted in bright colors to enclose the nude, to enclose the drawing and put it in the background, extension of the drawing with wire set off the surface of the paper.
