ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This work was part of a group of 9 drawings that make up a work called Heaven. These drawings were the consequence of a previous work in painting under the same name. Each one of these drawings represents a fragment of a situation that happens in a certain climatological landscape. This drawing is created with materials of fine cualite. This drawing on paper is thought to be framed by the collector All my drawings are sent very well protected in a tuve and have certificate of authenticity. The paper has two small holes in two corners from which it was hung by the artist in her studio. The holes are imperceptibles.

I'm a Venezuelan artist. I currently live in Merida, Venezuela, a country with important political, economic and social problems. I have been working in the field of visual arts since I was very young. I studied visual arts at the university and for several years, I have been working as a professor of drawing and color, at the Department of Visual Arts of the Faculty of Arts in the Universidad de Los Andes. In this gallery I show a brief selection of small and medium format works on paper and canvas. "The briefness or ephemerality of the passage of a cloud, of the movement of the air or the duration of a storm, have ineffable qualities which I have tried to approach for quite a while. I have always been interested in ideas such as the immaterial, the fugitive and the transitory of natural events and the landscape, for example the wind, the storms, the rain, the light, among others natural phenomenums. Getting closer to representing what happens when we perceive the air around us, has been one of the initial motors of my work. What happens in the atmosphere that we live in and that we cannot see, touch or catch. My research have gone especially through the medias of painting, drawing, collage and video. I understand my painting (which is abstract) as something that is happening. For me these paintings are events that are appearing, fragments of scenes and landscapes". My work forms part of collections such as: - Latin American Art Collection of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Whashington - Imago Mundi Collection: Contemporary Artists from Venezuela (Luciano Benetton Collection) It is also represented in private collections in the United States, Canada, Switzerland, France, England, the Czech Republic, Argentina and Venezuela. Also it has been published in the book 11 Dibujantes, El Toro de la Casa Ediciones, (Franco Contreras collection). Universidad de los Andes (2012), and in the catalogue of Imago Mundi Collection: A Shining Constant in the artistic sky, Contemporary Artists from Venezuela by Luciano Benetton Collection (2017)
