Jasper de Gelder has been an artist in Rotterdam since 2001. Jasper de Gelder was also trained at the Grafisch Lyceum in Rotterdam as a graphic designer and visualiser and in this capacity has done various jobs for a number of years. In 2001 he graduated from the graphic lyceum in Rotterdam, after which he started his studies at the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam, where he graduated in 2006 in the field of Autonomous visual arts, specializing in drawing and painting. Shortly after graduating from the academy, he leaves for varying periods for three years to Mexico where he takes up residence in Mexico City. Here he comes into contact with local artists, which results in joining the Living artroom gallery in Mexico city. Jasper's current studio is on the Lijnbaan in Rotterdam. In 2014, he co-founded the artists' collective Eldorado3000. This Collectively, it maintains its own perspective in the current landscape of art and late see this with your own exhibitions and with the artworks developed by the collective during events and exhibitions such as the artwork: the Fury Room, the experience of value. On September 24, 2016 the "project space": Neck of the Woods, will be on Boompjes 60 with the first exhibition started. He is the initiator, co-owner and curator. September 2017 was the last exhibition for the time being: monochromania. Since 2017 he has been working with Johannes Steendam, TNO and Shell on the project: Drilling for green ideas, the transformation of disused oil rigs. Other recent work and partnerships are: Fizzy Transition: artificial coral reefs. Eneco: windmill recycle problems. Jasper de Gelder works alongside his autonomous art practice and Eldorado3000 Art teacher at various primary schools in Rotterdam.
