ABOUT THE ARTWORK

ETAS (Embracing Time And Space) - Installation at Palazzo Mora | Personal Structures | in the context of the 58th International Venice art Biennale 2019. This world-embracing art project shall express that love is the most important pre-condition for a harmonious coexistence. Since having read Thérèse de Lisieux's words in Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral in 1996 love has been a central topic for the work of Karin Hannak. Thus she arranged ETAS (Embracing Time and Space) - a silver-labeled, transparent foil banner (in a length up to 10 m and more) with a quote by Thérèse de Lisieux being continuously repeated, written in silver lettering and different languages that has been installed worldwide as a symbol of love and peace from 2008 onwards and this way symbolically unite the world.
