When I paint, I want to be surprised by the brush, The ink, the paint, the linen and the movement of my hand. Linen, brush, paint and ink have their own strength and intelligence. The only thing I want to do is to set a theme as a starting point. On the basis of this, the process can take place that can lead to a painting or drawing. A work has to make me, as a spectator During the make trial amaze, so much so that I see something that I never. have seen before. The lines, the strokes of paint and ultimately the whole must be convince me of their rightness. A painting should, as far as possible prove themselves to me as outsider and spectator.
