Kate Minford is an interdisciplinary artist and Hypnosis Practitioner based in the Hudson Valley. Currently, focused on paintings that include digital collages she produces through Instagram’s Story feature using photos from her day-to-day life. Her work explores the liminal space between physical and spiritual realms, psychological excavation, technology as astral projection, and the interplay between pattern, ritual, intention, and the desire/ability to transform. Viewing the paintings as signs or guidance from her future self or echoes of a past incarnation, her paintings act as metaphoric gestures to call in or shift energy within her life. She draws inspiration from spirituality, handcrafts, decorative arts, metaphysics, nature, and religious iconography as well as her background as a hypnosis practitioner.
