In "After the Storm," a Venus flytrap is depicted nervously smoking, its tendrils trembling after a particularly challenging day aboard the cosmic cactus ship. Nearby, a serene cat lounges amidst a variety of bizarre plants, exuding an air of calm and tranquility. The contrast between the flytrap's frazzled state and the cat's peaceful demeanor highlights the spectrum of experiences and emotions within their surreal journey, offering a glimpse into the peculiar yet familiar moments of their interstellar adventure. "Stellar Voyagers: Feline Chronicles" is a captivating series of artworks blending the boundaries of fantasy and traditional Japanese concepts "ukiyo (浮世, 'floating/fleeting/transient world')". These pieces depict a unique and mesmerizing narrative where majestic cat, intertwined with a predatory Venus flytrap, embark on an epic cosmic journey. Their ship is an enormous Mexican peyote cactus. Following the Japanese tradition of capturing the moment and philosophy of "Mono no aware (物の哀れ, the pathos of things)", the series reflects everyday scenes aboard their cosmic vessel. Each artwork captures a moment of adventure, mystery, and the uncharted beauty of pictures of the floating world, inviting viewers to dive into a world where the fantastical becomes reality, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

I was born in a very small town (Kyzyl), located in the heart of Siberia and the center of Asia near Mongolia. I was born in a very small town near Mongolia. It's a very dysfunctional place, full of social problems and full of all kinds of violence. But the nature is very beautiful. My life has been extremely challenging. I grew up in a destructive family environment, enduring domestic and even sexualized violence from childhood. Art has always been my refuge, allowing me to create my own worlds, escape into them, and find peace. Today, I live with bipolar disorder, and painting truly helps me cope with it. I view my art as a form of therapeutic escapism. Through the process of painting, I illuminate my own path, crafting stories and realities. The true value lies in the viewer’s journey, as they immerse themselves in this imagined world, finding their own path to healing. My work can be categorized in the genre of magical realism. I am also largely inspired by Asian art movements in their ingenious approach to capturing moments of existence. At the moment, my favorite medium is watercolor, although I enjoy combining it with other materials such as acrylic paints, wax pastels, markers, and metallic foils, etc. As a chemist (I am a Doctor of Chemistry at the University of Strasbourg), I pay special attention to the quality and composition of the materials I use. Life is not merely what we see, but the fantasy we shape it into.
