Azulejo, originating from the Arabic word for "polished stone," refers to traditional Portuguese ceramic tiles. They first emerged in the 13th century with the aim of imitating Roman mosaics. Azulejos are meticulously hand-painted, each one unique. Consequently, houses, buildings, and even entire towns along the Portuguese coast are constructed with remarkable attention and awareness. This craftsmanship embodies the primary tantric principle of the intricate interplay of consciousness and energy, which also forms the foundation of any erotic interaction. Just as nature is inherently erotic, so too can cities be, each one concealing and revealing beauty to the discerning eye.
