ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This was the illustration painting I did for the book, The Quest for the Wild Violet, by Mina Marial Nicoli. It was painted in acrylic paint, and then manipulated in a photo manipulation program. The short synopsis of the book is generally that there is a bunny who has to go on a quest to find a wild violet to bring back for her mother to eat, so it can save her mother's life, because she is dying. With her are a few companions: a snake, an owl, and a pig. It's a magical, talking animal tale. This scene in the painting is when Miranda (the bunny) is receiving her instructions on how to find the magical flower from Angela (the motherly hedgehog).
