Audrey Dotti* (Study on Blue) - A new edition based on tests for the earlier Dotti Digital Spot Painting Series. Originally inspired by the Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. This artwork is part of my Fizzy Pop Series, including the 'Holly GoSpotty' & 'Dotti' spot paintings. I have been experimenting with new digital media and painting. The painting is hand painted with a digital brush which can achieve effects impossible by traditional means. I am calling this my 'Fizzy POP' series. This particular artwork uses a hand painted brush 'loaded' with paint spots where the parameters (chosen by the artist) are altered to create different splatter effects. All the spots are perfectly symmetrical but are painted in such a way as to give the impression of depth or perspective. This digital painting is much looser and more abstract whilst still (hopefully) showing the essence and pure beauty of this iconic actress and philanthropist. The overall effect is of an abstract almost cubist composition (or perhaps that should be 'Sphereist'?) • Type: Fine-Art Print • Medium: Giclée • Materials: 100% Cotton Fine Art Paper • Paper Type: Hahnemühle German Etching • Paper Size: approx 23.4" x 26.5" • Image Size: approx 20 inches square • Gallery Edition of only 6 • This artwork is sold unframed • Hand-signed by the artist (in pencil)* • Includes Certificate of Authenticity Artwork will be shipped rolled in secure tube. * In June 1968 Audrey Hepburn was invited on a cruise by Princess Olimpia Emmanuela Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi and her industrialist husband Paul-Annik Weiller. On the cruise she met the Italian psychiatrist Andrea Dotti and fell in love with him on a trip to the Greek ruins. She believed she would have more children and possibly stop working. She married him on 18 January 1969 at age 39 and gave birth to their son, Luca Dotti, on 8 February 1970. (Wikipedia) New Fizzy POP, Sugar DADA series of artwork.
