Somewhere in the wilderness of the American wild west. A pinto coated horse prances through long golden grass among trees sporting fall foliage. The warrior mustang wears Native American war paint and walks with a purposeful posture while a breeze blows through its dark mane tail. Perhaps majestic animal is on patrol. Autumn is my favorite season for art. I've always liked the warm color scheme. Being late August when I created this addition to my War Horse collection, I was definitely looking forward to the fall. The meanings behind the markings: Lines on its face represent victories in battle. For keen senses, it has the sun painted around its eye and circles around its nostrils. Because it has pushed a person over, the horse has hand prints on its chest. The blue circles are hail to rain down upon enemies. The arrow on its neck is a sign of victory. The handprint on it hindquarters means it has accomplished a mission. A symbol for a snake is on its hind leg, and above that, blue horses for captured mounts. A cross on its flank is for escaping an ambush. Thanks for looking! Daniel Eskridge P.S. Follow me on Facebook:

I want my art to be the doorway to ones imagination, a spark that leads to daydreams of journeys into history, fantasy worlds, and even the occassional dark lands of horror. Hence, I refer to my art as work as "Adventurous Art". Growing up in the foothills of the Appalachians, I've spent a great deal of time outdoors hiking, fishing and camping in the forests of north Georgia. Consequently, nature and organic forms play a big role in my images. I like to portray animals and creatures, but I’ll depict the occasional person as well; and almost always set in a natural environment. My art has been featured in the pages of Wild West, natural history, and horror magazines. I've had illustrations appear on everything from the covers of fantasy novels to the science sections of newspapers. A few of my works have even found their way into museums of science and history. So, welcome...and sit back and enjoy the adventure.
