ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece was actually started in early December 2021 when my mother was hospitalized for COVID and pneumonia shortly after Thanksgiving. She was a woman with a strong faith and fought a good fight. On January 10, 2022, she had enough and now is in glory. I finished this painting in early February 2022. It was my way of processing my mother's death. It started out dark, but lightened as I added purple, gold, and bronze pigments mixed with egg yolk. I miss my mother, but I am comforted that she is free from pain in Heaven.
