Cold Blood - Limited Edition of 25 Print

‘Cold Blood’, Aluminum Dye Sublimation, 80 X 120 cm (32 X 48 inches), 2017 The Bloody Mary is one of the world’s best known cocktails. It generally contains a few ingredients among which are vodka, tomato juice and ice cubes. Like many classic drinks, it has inspired several variations such as the Bloody Maria which is made with tequila and the Red Snapper that is spiked with gin, just to mention two. Throw in the recipes concocted by bars, bartenders and enthusiasts, and the tomato-based cocktail sports countless unique twists. More recently, the Bloody Mary has inspired a garnish-based arms race, as restaurants and bars top their drinks with more insane garnishes, including bacon, shrimp skewers, lobster tails and mini cheeseburgers. When in doubt, it’s best to start with the classic recipe and work toward the way you like it, whether that is pared down, topped with a pepperoni pizza or featuring your favorite bottled mix… well, I thought of an absurd mix of my own which is hard to cope with. My Bloody Mary doesn’t get its red color from tomato juice but rather from its ice cubes! When these are melting the outcome, presumably in some magical way, is blood. The result, to which the muted air bubbles that are trapped inside the ice cubes witness, can undoubtedly be only - Cold Blood. This painting fairly reflects my artistic approach which is aimed at creating artworks which are based on uncanny compositions, depicting inconceivable yet fantastic realities which are characterized by dazzling colors and razor-sharp details.
