ABOUT THE ARTWORK

THIS ARTWORK IS COMMISSION ART AND ONLY CREATED ON DEMAND! THE IMAGE SHOWS THE TARGETED OUTCOME FROM THE USAGE OF CERTAIN TYPES OF COLOURED FELT! This picture shows a Dragon Battle in the Sky. It is an adoption of a graphic used in the Amiga version of the SSI computer role-playing game (crpg) "Champions of Krynn". This here is a generated image, where each pixel is exchanged by an image of a square of felt. This sub-image is 100 pixel x 100 pixel in size, while the real dimension of the square is planned to be 10 mm x 10 mm in size. My purpose is to give an homage to those 90ies computer games and their pixel art. I have a palette of coloured felt that I can use to get as close to the original, as possible. The real outcome may vary quite a bit. I have done a portrait of a red dragon with 15 mm x 15 mm sized squares of felt, and it turned out quite good. For better handling I would prefer 10 mm over 15 mm. The squares of felt are going to be glued on medium-density fibreboards. It can come with or without a frame. The image here shows it without the aluminum frame. This image has 300 pixels x 120 pixels. 300 cm x 120 cm if created for real! So this is oversize! If you like those gaming art, this is for you. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to create such art haphazardly. It is a suggestion for commission art. The material and tools to start with are rather expensive, too. Therefore, I must set the starting price to a point where I'm not out of pocket. First sale will still be a zero-sum situation. This one takes more effort, due to its size. You can find a gallery of suggestions on my website. Keep in mind, this is commission art! It must be produced before shipment. I would really like to do a series of those images, like for a Dungeons & Dragons or Buck Rogers themed gallery. If you are interested, you may also contact me directly.
