In "Earthlight," a figure gazes upon our planet from the moon, seemingly close enough to touch. The scene evokes a sense of wonder and the dreamlike quality of fantasy. Hervé Ramboz approaches photography not merely as a record of reality, but as an architecture of the waking dream. Drawing on a lifetime of experience, he is now fully dedicated to creating images that transcend the boundaries of the real. His work aligns with the Magical Realism movement: he deconstructs the familiar to extract its oniric essence and contemplative melancholy. His compositions are Surrealist assemblages where fragments of disparate realities—personal elements (a garden stone, the local countryside) meet the historical (Portuguese statues, Italian fortresses) and the universal (the Moon, the Planches of Deauville)—are fused to form impossible landscapes. This collection is an invitation to introspection, revealing the poetic solitude of the individual against monumental backdrops, whether they be celestial, architectural, or natural. The intention is not to simply decorate, but to destabilize perception and forge a new visual truth where the dream is brought to life within reality.
