About The Artwork

"Farm House Series 3" is a heartfelt tribute to my cherished childhood memories of summers spent at my grandparents' rustic homestead in Alicia, Bohol, Philippines. These idyllic recollections remain a pivotal point of contact with nature, standing in stark contrast to my urban upbringing. They bestowed upon me a deep understanding of nature's soothing balm for the human soul and ignited an unwavering awareness of the urgency of environmental preservation. This artwork beckons viewers to step into the serene rural ambiance, inviting them to contemplate the allure of simplicity and the intrinsic harmony between human existence and the environment. It's a serene reminder that the splendor of a simple life, close to the land, has an unparalleled beauty that can be found nowhere else. Medium and Style: In "Farm House Series 3," I channel my signature style with an element of performative art but done in my studio. This piece comes to life through the expressive use of acrylic on canvas. A unique element is introduced – mercerized cotton string that gracefully hovers above the canvas, forming layered textures and imparting a distinctive visual vocabulary to the work. Additional Materials: To elevate the textural dimension and symbolism of interconnectedness, boat nails are strategically used along the edges to secure and harmonize the strings, adding depth and intrigue to the composition. Surface: The canvas, meticulously primed with synthetic material, acts as the foundational canvas, providing a tactile and visually engaging surface. The rich physical texture enhances the overall sensory experience, drawing the viewer closer into the narrative. Framing: The presentation of "Farm House Series 3" is thoughtfully enhanced through a box framing approach. Nails integrate the strings, further deepening the artwork's aesthetic resonance. Installation: Hanging this artwork is a straightforward process, facilitated by the included nylon attachment at the back.
