Mixed media artwork (watercolor, pen, ink, posca analog artwork with subsequent digital manipulation and post production) This work is part of the Hybrid Mythologies series of works. Hybrid Mythologies is an ongoing project fusing interconnected tales through different expressive languages, and seeking spaces of intersection and unification of myths, archetypes and symbolic systems. It is an unfolding tapestry of interconnected mythologies expressed through multiple media. The moon holds profound significance across various mythological systems, often embodying a symbol of mysticism, cycles, and divine femininity. In many cultures, the moon is revered as a celestial deity, guiding rhythms of time and nature. In Greek mythology, the moon is personified as the goddess Selene, who rides her chariot across the night sky. In Norse mythology, the moon is associated with the god Mani, who pulls the moon chariot, bringing light to the world. In ancient Egyptian beliefs, the moon represented renewal and rebirth, with the god Thoth overseeing its cycles. Across cultures worldwide, the moon's phases have inspired rituals, folklore, and spiritual practices, reflecting humanity's enduring fascination with its luminous presence in the night sky. Fishing for Moonlight is a contemplation of the symbolism associated with the moon, night, introspection, and silence. The moon represents cycles, mystery, and intuition. It serves as a beacon of guidance in the darkness, prompting introspection and reflection. The night symbolizes the unknown, providing a canvas for contemplation and inner exploration. In the silence of the night, away from the noise of the day, one can find clarity and insight, listening to the whispers of the soul and seeking wisdom in quietude.
