Hell Girl Nishan Shaman Print

The Artwork is provisionally entitled: Hell Girl Nishan Shaman or ‘The Nishan Shaman Harrowing Hiroshima Hell,’ otherwise, simply titled: Hell Girl. The Artwork is primarily based upon The Tale of the Nisan Shaman, also spelled ‘Nishan,’ which is an ancient Manchu folk tale about a female (Udagan) shaman (witch) who resurrects the son of a rich landowner, which led to her shamanic abilities becoming known of to the then Chinese emperor. However, the Chinese emperor feared Nishan’s power, whereby, through devious trickery he had her buried alive in a deep well near the city of Hailar, situated in Inner Mongolia. It is said that her revengeful ghost seeks to return back to the living. Nishan is also known of in Japan, who I then fused with a modern character from a stylish Japanese anime series, entitled, Hell Girl, also known as Jigoku Shōjo: Girl from Hell. The anime series was produced by Aniplex and Studio Deen. The surrealistic series focuses upon the existence of an occult system, which allows people to take revenge by having other people taken to Hell by the Hell Girl, named Ai Enma, who is aided by her assistant familiars implementing the revenge. The principle character of the Artwork was further fused with a described spirit, listed in the medieval grimoire, entitled the Goetia, called Shax, who is numbered as being the Forty-fourth spirit in said Grimoire. I have otherwise depicted Shax as an ‘Anima’ manifestation of a Succubus to name as Shaxi, or Shaanxi, being a name of a province in China, and in turn referring to the Manchu shaman tale of Nishan. The Shaanxi province of China is known for its pyramidal shaped structures, most of which are ancient mausoleums and burial mounds built to house the remains of several early emperors of China and their imperial relatives. About 38 of them are located around 25 kilometres (16 mi) – 35 kilometres (22 mi) north-west of Xi’an, on the Qin Chuan Plains in Shaanxi Province. The most famous is the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, northeast of Xi’an and 1.7 km west of where the Terracotta Warriors were found. The depicted female deity within the energy egg, is the Japanese Goddess, Benziaten, who was originally derived from the Hindu Goddess, Saraswati.
