ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The first time I saw this wonderful bird was at the Valley School, Bangalore for a fleeting moment. It was dark and green and suddenly there was a swish of white. The tail was too long. During one of our visits to Lalbagh, Bangalore, my son of 10 years, pointed out a bird that was hiding in the branches. It turned out to be the Indian Paradise Flycatcher. This time around, it took it’s time, would hop from one branch to another, but stayed in the same tree for more than 10 minutes. We returned home and narrated the incident with my daughter. She was sad that she missed it. Luckily, we saw the same bird in the same location (next to the lotus pond) next week
