Vincent Bolognini (b. 1975, Torrance, CA) is a visual artist whose work explores the tension between permanence and transience, shaped by a childhood of frequent relocation. His father’s ongoing dissatisfaction with work and place instilled in Vincent a heightened sensitivity to human behavior and the ways people navigate their environments. These early experiences continue to inform his practice, which probes themes of identity, belonging, and societal structure. He studied drawing and printmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, developing a process-driven approach rooted in immediacy and expressive mark-making. Charcoal remains his primary medium for its raw, tactile quality and its capacity to convey depth with minimal means. Vincent travels when he can, seeking insight into the human condition. His drawings evoke a quiet intensity, defined by bold gesture, tonal nuance, and the evocative weight of line. He currently lives and works in New York City, where he exhibits and maintains relationships with a growing circle of collectors.
