ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A while ago I dreamed I was in a coffee shop and ordered a muffin and a double espresso. However, as soon as the waitress appeared, I realized my mistake: In order to finish the muffin, I would need much more liquid than just a double espresso! I should have ordered an American Coffee instead. What should I do? Order more coffee so I could finish the muffin? But that much caffeine would most certainly make me so alert that I would wake up instantly. Then I could not finish the muffin in my dream. But without ordering more coffee, I could not finish it either! I woke up sweating and breathing hard. I wanted to avoid having this same nightmare again, so for the next two weeks immediately after taking a shower in the morning I went to my favorite coffee shop and ordered a Muffin and the biggest size American Coffee they served. Thus I trained my brain to not make the same mistake again and so far – keeping my fingers crossed – I have never dreamed again about ordering a muffin together with an espresso…
