Not Forgotten Print

I spend a lot of time reflecting on the human experience - how the biological instrument defines it and also perceives it, and I find drawing as I reflect brings a sort of meditative clarity that lets things land in a sensate way. What might certain feelings or experiences look like? I was pleased to find I could sketch this way on the go, digitally. I've worked on similar gestures and compositions with real paper, paints, pencils brushes and I love that, but this exercise allowed for immediacy and I found myself making several pictures that looked very different to what I was doing at the studio, and feeling a tenderness towards them and a sense of play and freedom. Refreshing and quiet and still, heartfelt and filled with emotion, this is what I found making them. The signature you see on these was my signature as a child, I sometimes use it still.
