View In My Room
This work is part of a series of works that I carry out referring to the body, to human bodies and their relationship with other bodies and their environment. I am interested in the body from a holistic-social perspective. Quoting Jean-Luc Nancy (1992) in his work Corpus, the body is my expressive form, it is what is seen on me, it is what is seen. My body is the only sure thing that is there. It is the environment with which I present myself, I identify, I relate and they identify and relate to me. Undoubtedly place of knowledge. (Body Phenomenology) As my own note I quote "By stripping the skin of the human body, it loses geographical identity to gain universality." The research, experimentation and transformation of the material that I use for these works have in themselves a great significant burden, due to the use that they make of it, homeless people who live poorly on the streets. Adhesive glue or contact glue is the main industrial material that I use in the creation of these works. And it is this same material that is consumed by some men, women and children who smell it to anesthetize or numb themselves and thus be able to escape from the harsh situation of precariousness and abandonment that it is hard for them to live on the streets of some large cities, in different parts of the world.
