ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“Ripple” is part of a larger portfolio, “See What I Hear”, of illustrations based on song lyrics. “Ripple”, is a song by The Grateful Dead and written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. The song includes several puzzling contradictions, “Ripple in still water/ When there is no pebble tossed/ Nor wind to blow.”, and “Let it be known there is a fountain / That was not made by the hands of men.” Although the song is open to interpretation. I believe it describes a journey -- the final journey, “There is a road, no simple highway / Between the dawn and the dark of night / And if you go, no one may follow / That path is for your steps alone” The image size is 12 x 12 in. with a 2 in. boarder. The paper size is 16 x 16 in. The giclee print is numbered and signed in the boarder below the image.
