ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I recently started this small project on my computer using two circles and wanted to make an impression of people connecting but keeping the circles in the same position for each image and changing the position of the people but keeping the drawings minimal and abstract so to give the images subtle different meanings and also not naming any of the images so the viewer can make their own title. I have also been wanting to create some work with wheelchair users included. As an ex carer with experience working with people in wheelchairs and disabled people and having a friend who is wheelchair bound and very disabled who was married to a person who was also a wheelchair user I wanted to create an abstract wheelchair connection between two wheelchair users. I am currently off sick with a very bad back and have been almost housebound with it and was thinking a wheelchair would be useful for me to go out as walking is a problem and so decided to start some doodles and start this small project and see how it goes. I've used different colours and sizes for the heads which can appear as gender, mood or sexual orientation but are really just colours so it's upto the viewer to decide if a certain head colour or size means anything but I have used light and darker colours to express different nationalities. Wheelchair users, especially severely disabled are strong people, the discomfort of being sat down all the time, having to rely on help to go to the bathroom, shower, get dressed, go out somewhere, some unable to move at all makes wheelchair life very difficult but the positiveness I have experienced from severe wheelchair users is an inspiration really and I hope this image appears positive to the viewer. Thanks for looking.

Hello, i'm an scatty amateur photographer with an interest also in water colour painting which I don't practice often enough. I like simple things and get a lot of enjoyment from being outdoors during sunrise which I find very peaceful. With the covid pandemic easing I hope to be going hiking in the hills and the beautiful National Trust spaces of the UK with my camera later this year.
