"My art is an eternal oscillation between limit and freedom, between error and correction, between thought and action. It unfolds as a dialectical dance between the finite and the infinite." From a very young age, Luciana Gallo has shown a remarkable artistic inclination for dance and figurative arts. At the age of ten, while attending La Scala Theater School in Milan, Italy, she began painting on canvas. This was beginning of everything that follows… Luciana further pursues her artistic education at the high school of arts and refines her technique while studying at the Marangoni Institute and later at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. In 1985, Luciana starts exhibiting figurative paintings, and the following year she holds her first solo exhibition at Palazzo Carrozzi Sannini in Montecatini. In the early 1990s, she lives and works in Miami, Florida, where she participates in numerous contemporary art exhibitions. She then returns to Italy showcasing her work in Milan and other Italian locations. From 2000 onwards, Luciana Gallo has dedicated herself entirely to her artistic career, experimenting with new mixed media techniques and transforming her figurative style into painterly surfaces infused with rich emotions and symbols. Her exhibitions in Italy were in cities such as Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, and Palermo, and internationally in Frankfurt, Paris, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Barcelona, and Dubai. Her most important solo exhibitions include those in 2009 in Rome and Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012 at the Andrea Ingegnito Contemporary Art in Naples, and in 2013 at the Voce Di space in New York. In 2014, she co-curated the "Transumanza" project with Luca Jurman at the Milan Triennale, a traveling exhibition that was later showcased in Rome, L'Aquila, and Bologna in 2015. Her art journey continued with numerous other, such as at the 2018 ART EXPO in Genoa and the 2023 Moon Space event during the Milan Design Week. The painter has received numerous awards. Starting with the Emerging Artist Award in 2005 during the XVII edition of the Arts Award – Culture Award, the International Art Award of the city of Lecce in 2009, where on the same occasion she received the Special Martin Luther King Human Rights Award, up until 2018 when she was honoured with the Critics' Award at the Satura International Contest in Genoa. Luciana Gallo composes her works between emptiness and substance through a quest for balance. Between chromatic contrasts and silences.
