ABOUT THE ARTWORK
TRIPLE SKULL is an unusual creation of three skulls merged together. I was inspired by the concept, just thinking that I would create something unusual. I enjoyed combining the skulls in a cohesive image. This picture may relate to many historical concepts of the triple attributes of gods and goddesses throughout the ages. There are many deities that have three faces, indicating the different aspects of the deities. The Christian God has three aspects, God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Shiva, a Hindu God has three faces. Many Goddesses are attributed with three faces indicating the characteristics of the three ages of women, maiden, mother and crone. Three faced Goddesses were worshiped in Anatolia, ancient Greece and ancient Rome. These deities are depicted with three faces, I haven't seen any three faced skull pictures. The concept is intriguing, an inspiring conundrum. This picture, hanging on your wall, where you glance at it frequently, will inspire contemplation on the meaning of life.

I live in the deep country of Washington Parish Louisiana where I have a beautiful studio. Our property is on a creek and we have some land on a hill. Nature is a jungle jumble here, sooo beautiful. It satisfies my deep need to commune with Mother Earth. As a child I grew up as an Air Force brat, moving about and experiencing diverse cultures. " I've been everywhere, Man." (Willie Nelson) "Daddy always kept moving so she did too." (Neil Young) North, south, east and west. Paris, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Central America. Where ever I have been I have savored the various local arts. When I was six years old the Air Force moved us to Japan. You might call it culture shock, my young mind expanded when I experienced art and culture so different from the USA. I paint or photoshop almost everyday and have done so for many decades. Nature and creating art are necessary for my peace of mind. Art is a path to explore my own mind and to connect with others on a deep level. I follow my muse, choosing from a multitude of different byways that beacon to me. Maybe you will see where my imagination flows. Maybe our minds will meet. I garden organic veggies and flowers. This is creative and at my age I need the motivation of gardening exercise to keep my joints oiled. I am married to a wonderful man, I am a Mom and Grandmother, and Great Aunt. We have loving get togethers for holidays.
